Lily is regarded by her peers as gifted and a free spirit. She stands out for her "outside the box" approach toward mental health. She believes there is Truth in the world of the paranormal and the role it plays in society. "Everyone has their demons, some more real than others." She likes to say.
In Lily's life, the line between good and evil is blurred. She has somewhat of an obsession with the darker side of the paranormal. Maybe it would provide her with a reason to what happened in France which still haunts her and continue to shape her adult life. People will find her odd. She'll push buttons to figure people out, it's probably why she is a psychologist. She'll push the limits, even past sanity if it requires.
History:
She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her mother was French, and her father was an American oil company executive. Her parents married because her mother was pregnant. She shares very little about her childhood. If pushed about it, she would say her mother was a raging alcoholic who drank herself to death, and her father is a rich prick.
Her parents separated when she was 10 and after that point her childhood turned into a nightmare. Her father disappeared from her life. They moved to France. Lily acted out against her mother who always had boyfriends at the house. Lily would sabotage her mother's relationships, because she was loyal to her father, even though it was her father that had left them.
The relationship grew more sour with her mother over the next few years. Lily grew depressed as she entered her teenage years. Her selfish mother saw an opportunity to rid herself of the child who had ruined her life. She had Lily committed to a psychiatric hospital. Lily though it was a game, she could spend a short time away from her mother while the doctors treated her melancholy, but she over played her part and was later misdiagnosis with adolescent schizophrenia. No one never came to visit, she had been forgotten. She suffered years of mental and physical abuse at the hospital, but survived however she could. This forever scarred her life.
It was not until she turned 16 did your father returned to her life. It took a few more months of fighting the system to free her. Shortly after her 17th birthdays she was released to her father, and she returned to the US. So grateful to be out of there, she did not question her father's lack of interest in her which allow it to happen. She promised to be a good girl. Her new step-mother and step-siblings accepted her into the family.
They lived in Houston, Texas. Her father was a vice-president of an oil company. She was also introduced to her father's Church of Scientology and became an active member of the church until her early 20s when she had a falling out. This falling out coincide with the death of her mother, who was pass out drunk while the house caught fire. It just brought her back, and she finally saw her father was an asshole too. She made a complete break with the church after graduating from Berkeley and enrolled in a master's program in psychology on the east coast. This lead to friction with her father since Scientology is opposed to Psychology. No matter he could not revoke her trust fund. A trust fund which provided her a nice income to pay her expenses like school until she was 30.
Always curious about the human condition, she was naturally drawn into psychology, especially the criminal mind. "Morals of Society only set the rules on how to behave, yet history has shown us the line between Good and Evil is subjective." She wrote in her master's thesis.
Her education continued at Tulane University in New Orleans, where eventually she earned her PhD in Psychology. In her time there, she worked for the Louisiana Department of Corrections, where she dealt face to face with convicted murderers, gang members, drug dealers, and sex offenders. Also in New Orleans she became fascinated by the occult, and learned the art of Tarot card reading.
After her doctorate, Lily continued to work with the Department of Corrections. She had long meetings with inmates and sometimes pushed the limit with disregard of her own safety and those of others. Eventually the department did not renew her contract. From there she did a lot of freelance work with law firms, law enforcement agencies and courts. A year ago she moved to Boston and opened up her own private practice.
Grace recently published a book, "Blood and Darkness". It's an account of a murderer who blamed a darker power for his acts of cruelty and also about the psychology behind it. Her book is not a best seller but has drawn the attention of those in the paranormal community.
Side-note: The origins of her name. She was born Angelia Morgan. After leaving France, in order to hide her time in the psychiatric hospital and cause embarrassment for her father, she legally change her name.
During one lonely winter day, while in hospital's conservatory, a light shown in the form of a cross which centered on a single potted lily. She though it was beautiful and gave her a sense of peace. It was that moment she recalled when asked to pick a name. Lily Delacroix.
